Apparently I missed the memo on Spencer who returned last week from a knee injury that had kept him out since Week 2 of last year. Spencer recorded three tackles and a quarterback hit against the New Orleans Saints and followed that up with a one tackle performance against the Houston Texans this week. While those aren’t stat book stuffing numbers, just the fact that Spencer has made it back is impressive and his explosiveness will eventually return.
It’s unlikely Spencer will ever return to his 2012 self – 95 tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery – but having a veteran like him on the field can only be a boost for a surging Dallas Cowboys team.
