The Purdue Boilermakers are off to a good start in the NCAA Tournament this year as they lead High Point University, the automatic qualifier from the Big South, at halftime.

Sophomore guard Myles Colvin is not one of the team's premier players, playing only 17.4 minutes per game, but he had the tournament's first must-see play early on Thursday when he had a thundering putback dunk in the first half of the contest.

The official NCAA March Madness page posted several other angles of the play as well, and each one is better than the last.

Head coach Matt Painter and his team will need to rely on high-energy plays like this that shift the momentum of the game if they want to make a deep tournament run this season. Colvin's play is just one example of a play that can propel the Boilermakers forward in this year's NCAA Tournament.

Colvin is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and is currently averaging 5.3 points per contest. He is also adding 2.5 rebounds per contest for the Purdue men's basketball team and has started in eight of the team's 33 contests.

Purdue does not have as high-powered of a team this year without Zach Edey, but First-Team All-American Braden Smith has been leading the charge for the Boilermakers. They finished with a record of 22-11, including a 13-7 record in an underrated Big Ten Conference this season.

They will have a tough matchup in the Round of 32 if they can pull out the victory against the High Point Panthers, as they will take on the Clemson Tigers or the McNeese State Cowboys, who are a popular upset choice.

Purdue will have the No. 1 seeded Houston Cougars waiting for them in the Sweet 16 if they can advance that far, which will be a tall task to overcome.
