Purdue Boilermakers to Wear Breast Cancer Awareness Helmets
By Mathew Muncy
It’s October, which means it’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Purdue Boilermakers are doing their part to help raise awareness across the country by donning a new helmet on Saturday. When the Boilermakers take the field against the Michigan State Spartans they will be wearing black helmets, with a neon yellow “P” and a neon yellow Breast Cancer ribbon.
The helmets are pretty sweet looking. While the Boilermakers will be helping to raise awareness on the field, Purdue University will be holding events all week dedicated to raising money and awareness for the deadly disease. You can learn more about the Hammer Down Cancer campaign that Purdue University runs here.
The Boilermakers take on the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
What do you think of the helmets? Should Purdue join the rest of the NCAA and start making unique helmets and jerseys? Let us know in the comments below.
