Drew Brees – QB – New Orleans Saints

This season has not been kind to Brees and his New Orleans Saints. They started 0-2, thanks to back-to-back game winning field goals, beat the Minnesota Vikings easily, then were beat by the Dallas Cowboys easily and had to claw their way back from down 11 on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

You know your season is in trouble when you get dominated by the Buccaneers for the majority of the game. Brees didn’t help matters by throwing three interceptions. He finished 35-of-57 for 371 yards, two touchdowns and those three picks. His quarterback rating of 33.7 was his lowest of the season.

Luckily for Brees his running backs exploded at just the right time. Pierre Thomas scored on a 27-yard run in the fourth quarter to bring the Saints within five, and then Khiry Robinson ran for the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

The Saints are now 2-3 on the season and Brees has accumulated 1,574 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions.
