Carson Wiggs Released By NFL’s Seattle Seahawks
By Zach Langdon
Former Purdue kicker Carson Wiggs was released by the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks today so the team could have a roster spot to sign receiver Braylon Edwards.
Kicker Steven Hauschka is the Seahawks returning kicker, and he is still on the roster. In his one year in Seattle, he managed a respectable 83.3%, nailing 25 of 30 kicks.
Wiggs hit 56 kicks on 76 tries. That only adds up to a 73.7%. In his senior year, Wiggs made 19 of 25 kicks missing two kicks under 40 yards.
The roster move went almost unnoticed on Seahawks blogs, with people focusing more on the signing than who was cut. Hopefully Wiggs can find a new spot in the NFL.
