By Zach Langdon
The Exponent is reporting the West Lafayette City Council approved two high-rise buildings for the area Monday night. One, the Stadium Capital project, passed with a 4-3 vote. The State Street Corner project passed unanimously.
According to the Exponent, the Stadium Capital building will be a “five-story, mixed-use building located at 720 Northwestern Ave,” which is across Northwestern from Mackey Arena and Lambert Fieldhouse.
"“The building will contain 490 bedrooms inside 230 units, according to the Commission’s staff report,” the Exponent continued. “There will be 41,825 square feet of ground floor retail with a 405 space parking garage that will consist of three levels. Two levels are underground and connect internally. A grocery store, Regions Bank, bookstore and two restaurants are planned for the location. The grocery store, called Fresh City Market, would feature a full-service deli and buffet with a menu that changes daily. There will also be a delivery option which would be free for orders over $40.”"
