The Boiling Point: Purdue’s Robbie Hummel was picked preseason first-team All-Big Ten on Thursday.

Purdue senior Robbie Hummel was tabbed preseason first-team All-Big Ten for the third time in his career on Thursday. Hummel is recovering from his second ACL injury, which has prevented him from playing in an actual game for more than 18 months. The team was announced at the Big Ten’s media day in Chicago on Thursday.

Joining Hummel were Preseason Player of the Year Jared Sullinger (Ohio State), Michigan State’s Draymond Green, Minnesota’s Trevor Mbakwe and Wisconsin’s Jordan Taylor.

The league’s top three teams according to the media were also released. As expected, Ohio State was No. 1 with Wisconsin at No. 2 and Michigan State in the third spot. The conference releases only the top three.
