The Boiling Point: Purdue predicted to make a bowl game.

Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett of ESPN’s Big Ten Blog released their week 8 predictions for Big Ten teams making bowl games. The Boilers have made it on to their list as they are predicted to go to the Little Caesers Pizza Bowl and face a MAC opponent. Hey, a bowl game is a bowl game, and I like pizza so I’ll take it.

Currently Purdue is 4-3 so they need 2 more wins to be eligible for a bowl; 3 to be safe in case more B1G teams are eligible than tie-ins they have.  The Boilers’ remaining schedule is at Michigan, at Wisconsin, vs Ohio St, vs Iowa and at Indiana. If I had to choose which two games the Boilers will win I’d go with Iowa and Indiana. For the 3rd win to be safe I’d say Michigan or O$U with O$U being more likely, though I’d rather them beat Michigan and not have to win 3 straight to be safe.

The other Big Ten teams to make the rankings are MSU (Rose Bowl), Wisconsin (Sugar Bowl), Nebraska (Capital One), Michigan(Outback), PSU (Insight Bowl), O$U (TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl), Iowa (Meineke Car Care Bowl), Illinois (TicketCity.com Bowl).

Just to throw it out there…if Purdue wins out it’ll make the B1G Championship with a chance to go to the Rose Bowl.
