Stubblefield’s Reception Record Broken

The Boiling Point: Former Purdue receiver Taylor Stubblefield’s NCAA career receptions record was broken Saturday.
Former Purdue receiver Taylor Stubblefield, who famously “Boiler Up’ed” down the Notre Dame sidelines in 2004, has had his NCAA career receptions record broken.
Oklahoma’s Ryan Broyles caught his 317th career catch Saturday, breaking Stubblefield’s (2001-04) 316 catch mark. Broyles’ record breaker came on a 57-yard touchdown grab. He went into the game needing three catches to break the record and finished with 13 for 217 yards and two scores.
“Ryan Broyles was just out of this world,” Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said after the game. “When you set a national record, that’s pretty special, but to do it with over 200 yards is unreal.”
