Report: Purdue Adds 7-Foot Center For 2012 Class

The Boiling Point: GoldandBlack.com is reporting Purdue has received a verbal commitment from 7-foot center AJ Hammons, of the class of 2012.

Matt Painter received a commitment tonight from 7-foot Class of 2012 center A.J. Hammons, GoldandBlack.com is reporting.  Hammons was one of the top remaining targets for Painter’s 2012 recruiting class.

Also in the 2012 class are Raphael Davis (SG), Jay Simpson (PF) and Ronnie Johnson (PG). Shooting guard Gary Harris will now be Matt Painter’s primary focus for this class.

Hammons, originally from Gary, started high school in Carmel before transferring to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He is the No. 18-ranked center for the class and No. 123 overall, according to Rivals.com.
