Gophers Whacked: Purdue 45, Minnesota 17

The Boiling Point: Purdue beat Minnesota 45-17 in its first Big Ten game of the season.

There’s not much to say about this one. Purdue managed to play three quarterbacks (that’s right, apparently when you’re in a blowout with a 2-QB system, you pull both at the end) and won 45-17 over Minnesota to open Big Ten play. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, the Boilers are undefeated in the Big Ten. Believe it or not, I’d say this one wasn’t even as close as the score makes it appear.

  • Purdue converted 8-of-16 third-down attempts
  • Carson Wiggs hit a 53-yard field goal
  • Marve (4/6) and Terbush (14/21) combined for 18-of-27 for 155 yards
  • Purdue had 10 guys rush at least one time, every one for positive yards
  • Akeem Hunt led the way with eight rushes for 60 yards
