Beckford Cited For Paraphernalia Possession

The Boiling Point: Purdue defender Dwayne Beckford was cited by the West Lafayette Police Department for paraphernalia possession in July.

Reports have surfaced Purdue linebacker Dwayne Beckford was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Tippecanoe County Court records show on Monday, July 18, by West Lafayette police. The records indicate Beckford missed his initial court appearance Sept. 13, leading to a warrant being issued Sept. 14. He was served on the 21st and appeared in court Sept. 22.

Beckford did not play the first quarter of Purdue’s game against Southeast Missouri State, which was Saturday, Sept. 17, although coach Danny Hope did not elaborate as to why.

This is not Beckford’s first run-in with the law at Purdue. On June 6 he was cited for Failure to stop after an accident resulting in non-vehicle damage and Failure to stop after an accident resulting in damage to an unattended vehicle. He was sentenced to unsupervised probation and community service for these offenses.
