Predictions

Scott: Last week Purdue did an outstanding job against the run, holding Rice to just under 3 yards per carry. That should help this week when facing an offense that utilizes primarily the option. Purdue must do a much better job against the pass, particularly the line-backing core. Last week SEMO gave up 246 yards passing and 240 yards rushing to Southern Illinois. Should Bolden well for Purdue(see what I did there? ha). This could be the blowout Purdue needs to get the season back on track. Purdue 42-SEMO 17

Zach:I’m not sure if anyone realizes this, but Rice is not a good team. The fact that Purdue was even CLOSE in a game with them makes me hesitate to say our Boilers will easily roll over SEMO. That said, I’m still picking Purdue to win big, though I don’t really have an explanation. Maybe it’s just pure wishful thinking, hoping that Purdue hasn’t fallen as far as a program as I think it has. Purdue 31-SEMO 14

Leroy: There is a big difference between a bad FBS team and a bad FCS team. Purdue will make quick work of Southeast Missouri State behind an inspired rushing attack that should be more than 200 yards. On top of that, the Boilers will look like a completely different team defensively,. too. Purdue rolls easy in this one. Purdue 49, SEMO 7
