Purdue Adds Pike QB

The Boiling Point: Indianapolis Pike quarterback Aloyis Gray committed to Purdue after Saturday’s win against Middle Tennessee.

Purdue picked up its 14th recruit and second quarterback for its 2012 class on Saturday. Aloyis Gray pledge to Purdue coach Danny Hope after the Boilers beat Middle Tennessee, 27-24.

Gray’s commitment comes a week after visiting Purdue and meeting with Hope. The 6-foot-3, 170-pounder was offered a scholarship by Purdue in February and also had offers from Indiana, Akron and Marshall. He was also getting interest from other Big Ten schools.

The other QB in the class is highly-touted Ohio signal caller Austin Appleby.
