The Boiling Point: Purdue’s football team escaped with a season-opening win on Saturday.
It wasn’t the prettiest Week 1 game Purdue fans hope for, but the Boilers ended up on top against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday. After trailing for much of the game, Purdue put together an 11-play 85-yard scoring drive led by Caleb TerBush, who capped the drive with a 35-yard pass to Antavian Edison with 49 seconds left.
Middle Tennessee positioned itself for a game-tying field goal, but Ricardo Allen blocked the kick, ending the game and setting off a celebration in Ross-Ade Stadium.
