Sports Illustrated Predicts Bowl Game

The Boiling Points: Sports Illustrated has Purdue making bowl game.

Yesterday Stewart Mandel from SportsIllustrated.com released his bowl projections for the year. He does update the predictions every week and these I would assume coincide as his pre-season predictions. Mandel thinks Purdue will be playing Marshall in the Ticket City Bowl on January 2nd. Purdue is listed as the 7th choice for a Big Ten team to make a bowl. I’m sure there will be people saying this bowl is a joke, but I’m also guessing its the same people who are complaining about not going to a bowl.

The other Big Ten teams predicted in bowls are Nebraska(B10 Champ and Rose Bowl), Wisconsin(Fiesta), Northwestern(Little Caesers), Penn St.(Insight), Michigan(Meineke Texas), Iowas(Capital One), Ohio St(Outback), and Michigan St(Gator).

Purdue opens up the season this Saturday against Middle Tennessee St at 12pm eastern in Ross-Ade Stadium.
