TerBush Named Starter For Opener

The Boiling Point: Purdue football coach Danny Hope named Caleb TerBush the Boilers’ starter for Saturday.

Not surprisingly, sophomore Caleb TerBush was named Purdue’s starting quarterback for Saturday’s season opener against Middle Tennessee State. TerBush has been the taking the most reps with the 1s in practice with Rob Henry and Robert Marve both sidelined with knee injuries. Sophomore Sean Robinson is the back-up. TerBush told the Lafayette Journal & Courier:

"“It’s good to know the hard work has paid off,” TerBush said Sunday. “I can’t be satisfied. I have to keep working every day like I have been. It’s coming in the extra hours and getting in extra film and trying to become a student of the game.”"

TerBush hasn’t played a snap in college and sat out last season after being declared academically ineligible. He was thrust into the starting role after Henry tore his ACL early last week.
