Hammons is a 7-foot center playing out east at Oak Hill Academy, a prep school, but is originally from Carmel, Ind. Hammons and top 20 talent Gary Harris are the two 2012 recruits Purdue’s still heavily pursuing. Hammons is ranked No. 90 by Rivals and is a four-star recruit.
