Purdue Gets 10th Commitment
The Boiling Point: Alabama tight end commits to Purdue.
According to a tweet from GoldandBlack.com, Alabama tight end Jonathan Curry has committed to the Boilermakers. He is the 10th commit for the 2012 football recruiting class. The 6’2″ Curry hails from Phoenix City, Alabama and is a 3 star recruit according to Rivals.com. Curry told GoldandBlack.com:
"“That’s how they said they’d be able to use me in the offense and what I can do for them,” Curry said. “They said they don’t have a tight end like me and desperately need one.”“(Purdue) made it known I was wanted and needed,” Curry said, “and that was big for me.”"
Tight end is a big need for the Boilers. There is pretty much no experience and potentially the best player talent wise, in Patrick Bade, hasn’t played since high school after two years of basketball at Purdue. Curry had offers from Arkansas, Memphis, Nebraska, Standford, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest. Some other schools showing interest were Georgia Tech, Oregon, and Tennessee.
