The Boiling Point: Anthony Johnson to play overseas.

Purdue red-shirt freshman Anthony Johnson will be playing with the East Coast All-Stars in this week’s Four Nations Cup in Tallinn, Estonia. The team is made up of 10 players and has 5 from the Big Ten. They have been training in Williamsport, PA before they leave for Estonia tomorrow.

They will play an exhibition game against Vlimsi Spordikeskuss on Wednesday before starting the competition against Sweden on Friday.  On Saturday they will play Georgia (the country) and will play Estonia on Sunday. They come back to the U.S. on Monday.

It will be a short trip with valuable experience for Johnson.  Last year he red-shirted for the Boilers. Before hurting his ankle, Johnson was the most herald recruit in the 2011 recruiting class. Personally I can’t wait to see the sharp shooting swing guard next year and how he progressed in the red-shirt year.  Could only help having Robbie Hummel in his ear every game at the end of the bench.

Below is the full roster for the team:

Mike Bruesewitz, Wisconsin

Bryce Cartwright, Iowa

Jack Cooley, Notre Dame

Elliott Eliason, Minnesota

Matt Gatens, Iowa

Pe’Shon Howard, Maryland

Anthony Johnson, Purdue

Rodney McGruder, Kansas State

Baye Mousa Keita, Syracuse

Brandon Triche, Syracuse
