Purdue Gets 9th 2012 Football Commitment

The Boiling Point: Andy Garcia commits to the Boilers.

Purdue picked up it’s 9th pledge for the 2012 football recruiting class.  Linebacker Andy Garcia committed to the Boilers today.  The 5’10” 210 pound linebacker hails from Hialeah, Florida.  Garcia chose the Boilers over offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Marshall, Northern Illinois, Vanderbilt, and Western Michigan.  Some other schools showing interest were Maryland, Miami, Oklahoman St, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin.

No word if he is related to the actor Andy Garcia.  With his size he might be a candidate for a position change.  He would definitely have to bulk up.  I’m 5’10” and I can’t imagine even trying to play linebacker in college.
