Future Football Schedules See Changes

The Boiling Point: Football schedules get tweaked in favor of flexibility.
In an effort to add flexibility to future football schedules starting in 2017, Purdue had to make some changes to its future slates. The result was canceling two games of the four-game series with Cincinnati and moving up another game with Marshall.
“We are very appreciative to both schools,” Burke said in a release. “We have been asked by the Big Ten Conference to provide some flexibility with our future schedules beginning in 2017, and both Marshall and Cincinnati worked with us to help comply.”
The Boilermakers will face the Bearcats on the road on Aug. 31, 2013, and at Ross-Ade Stadium on Sept. 3, 2016, as was previously scheduled. The 2014 and 2015 meetings have been canceled. Purdue and Marshall will meet up as planned at Ross-Ade Stadium on Sept. 29, 2012, and the 2017 contest has been rescheduled with Purdue heading to Marshall on Sept. 5, 2015, instead.
