One Purdue Recruit Increases Stock
The Boiling Point: 2013 Purdue mens basketball commit Basil Smotherman increases stock.
The Indianapolis Star’s Kyle Neddenriep came out with his list of 10 Indiana high school prospects who increased their stock during the first 10-day evaluation period in recruiting. 2013 Purdue commit Basil Smotherman was the only Purdue player to make the list. Not sure how 2012 commit Ronnie Johnson doesn’t make the list and potentially 2012 commit Rapheal Davis as well. You can argue they became too well known, particularly Johnson, but Neddenriep included Jeremey Hollowell who is rated in the top 50 of every recruiting service. Here’s what he had to say about Smotherman:
"• Basil Smotherman: The 6-foot-6 wing had a good run even going back to June with his new high school team, Lawrence North. Smotherman is a lot more active and is knocking down the outside shot with more regularity. The Purdue recruit (2013 class) is making better decisions with the ball. He needs to become a better finisher, but has taken major strides."
