The Boiling Points: A simulation of Purdue’s 2011-2012 season using EA Sports NCAA Football 2012.

To say news in the Purdue sports world is slow would be an understatement.  Big AAU basketball tournaments are over for now, football isn’t back in full swing yet, and most Purdue fans are just waiting with baited breath on whether Gary Harris or AJ Hammons will commit to the mens basketball team.

Last week I picked up EA Sports NCAA Football 2012 and I thought it’d be interesting to give a look into how Purdue might end up this season.  I’ll list scores from each game along with key stats from each one, any players of the week, awards, etc. I won’t be playing each game, just starting a season and simulating the whole thing. I’ll keep record of what was predicted by the video game and put it up against our predictions here on The Boiling Points.

Note: All rosters and depth charts are from what came packaged in the game. Marve is starting QB, some players rated lower than probably should be, Pryor still in game, etc.  Since technically the players in the game aren’t “real” EA can’t release roster updates.
