The Boiling Point: New rankings for 2012 mens basketball class have come out.

Rivals.com and Scout.com have released their updated rankings for players in the 2012 mens baskeball class.  These come right before the July evaluation period begins and where AAU picks up again.  All three of Purdue’s commitments made the top 100 of Scout and Rapheal Davis was the lowest rated at 107 in Rivals.

Ronnie Johnson- #88 Rivals, #78 Scout
Jay Simpson- #94 Rivals, #97 Scout
Rapheal Davis- #107 Rivals, #83 Scout

This looks to be a top 25 recruiting class in the country.  If Purdue is able to secure a commitment from guard/wing Gary Harris (#28 Rivals, #16 Scout) look for it to jump to a top 10 class.  Another player Purdue has been targeting is center AJ Hammons (#90 Rivals, #73 Scout).  Purdue is only going to take one more player for the 2012 class and it is clear Harris is their top priority with no one else even close.  Seems as though the recruitment with Hammons has cooled off some. If the Boilers lose out on Harris, don’t be surprised if they just keep the class how it is.
