The Boiling Point: ESPN ranks Kwann Short 4th.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg ranked the Big Ten’s defensive tackles.  After last year where the B1G had very good defensive ends, this year it looks like it will be the same for defensive tackles.  Purdue’s Kwann Short came in 4th in his rankings.  Lost in former Boiler Ryan Kerrigan’s dominant year was Short’s outstanding performance.  We will see this year how he performs with teams focusing on him instead of Kerrigan. Here’s what Rittenberg had to say:

"4. Kawann Short, Purdue, junior: Overshadowed by line mate Ryan Kerrigan in 2010, Short should dominate the spotlight this fall after a terrific sophomore season. He led Big Ten defensive tackles in both sacks (6) and tackles for loss (12.5), finishing fourth in the league in both categories. Short dropped some weight during the offseason to improve his stamina. He should be in the mix for All-Big Ten honors."
