The Boiling Point: Ken Plue ranked 4th in position rankings.
ESPN B1G football blogger, Adam Rittenberg, came out with his rankings for the offensive line. He gave the top 5 at offensive tackle, center, and guard. While no one from Purdue’s football team made the top 5 at tackle or center, Ken Plue made it for guard. He comes in at 4th. Plue is an interesting inclusion, since he seemed to be practicing with the second unit the majority of the spring. That was due to his attitude and not his talent. Here is what Rittenberg had to say:
"4. Ken Plue, Purdue, senior: This pick is a bit risky after Plue worked his way into the coaches’ dog house in spring practice. But he has the size, the skills and the experience (28 starts) to become one of the Big Ten’s top guards this fall. If the 6-7, 358-pound Plue can work out his issues, look out for him and the Boilers."
Look for the Purdue offensive line to surprise people in the Big Ten. This is an experience group, and with a healthy Ralph Bolden and healthy quarterbacks they can make some noise.
