The Boiling Point: Kicker becomes third verbal commitment to Purdue’s 2012 football recruiting class.
Purdue found a kicker for its 2012 football recruiting class. Thomas Meadows of Virginia pledged to the Boilers on Wednesday night. The 6-foot, 170-pounder recently attended a camp at Purdue and loved what he saw.
"“It was a great opportunity, it was a full ride and everything I’ve seen from them I liked,” Meadows told Rivals.com. “It’s the best degree for me and I got along great with the coaching staff. I was their No. 1 guy and I really like Coach (Jay) Gibboney. I know he’s a great coach that can help me reach my full potential. I’m really not worried about the fact of going to Indiana, it all added up and it’s the right decision to make.“It was just the best overall place and I wanted to be there. My visit was great when I went to camp and toured the campus. It’s a beautiful campus, it’s a great place to be.”"
With current kicker Carson Wiggs set to graduate after this season, Meadows will compete for punting, kickoffs and field goal kicking as a freshman. He becomes the third verbal for the 2012 class. Quarterback and kicker were priority positions given the room at both positions after this season.
