The Boiling Point: Purdue target Gary Harris cuts list down to five.
2012 Purdue target Gary Harris told cbssports.com’s Jeff Borzello he has cut his list of schools down to five. Harris has kept everything about his recruitment tight to the vest with very little information coming from his or his parents on where he is leaning.
"“Indiana, Michigan State, Louisville, Notre Dame and Purdue are coming at me the hardest,” Harris said. “That’s my top five.”"
Harris is a 5 star rated recruit by most publications, the highest possible rating. The 6’4″ Harris is a guard at his high school, Hamilton Southeastern in Indiana, but he would be able to slide over to small forward spot as well.
"“After the summer is over, or after this June and July, my parents and I are going to sit down and talk about it,” Harris said. “I’m looking for a school where I can get playing time.”"
Playing time shouldn’t be an issue for Harris no matter where he goes. He is the type of player that should get immediate playing time no matter who is there. One thing that could help in Purdue’s recruitment is both his parents attended Purdue, where his mom Joy Holmes was a basketball standout.
Currently Purdue has a full class for 2012 but NCAA rules permit over-signing by one player as long as a spot is opened up by the summer before he enrolls.
