The Boiling Point: 2012 Purdue basketball recruit Jay Simpson will finish his high school basketball career at prep school.

2012 Purdue recruit Jay Simpson is headed to LaPorte LaLumiere Academy to play his senior year of basketball. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound forward is from Champaign, Ill., and had played for Champaign Central. LaLumiere Academy is a prep school in Indiana.

Simpson averaged 12.3 points and 6.9 rebounds as a junior. He has battled asthma his entire basketball career but is starting to control it, which is helping Simpson take his game to another level. He will be signing with the Boilers in November.

Simpson may be joined at LaLumiere by fellow 2012 recruit Rapheal Davis. Davis has been playing at Fort Wayne South Side, but may make the move, too. Ronnie Johnson and Kyle Molock are the two other recruits in that class.

Current Purdue big man Sandi Marcius also played at LaLumiere before heading to West Lafayette.
