Hummel Gets The All Clear

The Boiling Point: Purdue’s Robbie Hummel clears final hurdle of second ACL surgery.
Earlier in the week Purdue’s Robbie Hummel made a trip to New York and got completely cleared by his surgeon. Hummel had been recovering and rehabbing from his second ACL surgery.
Because there isn’t a rush to get him back on the court as there was with practice starting last fall, Hummel likely won’t partake in 5-on-5 action immediately.
Hummel missed the entire 2010-11 season with the second injury. His first ACL tear happened at Minnesota last spring. That would mean Purdue fans would be seeing Hummel on the floor for the first time in about 18 months this fall. He’s a projected starter along with Lewis Jackson, Terone Johnson, Ryne Smith and Travis Carroll.
