Bracketology Slots Purdue As No. 4 Seed

The Boiling Point: In a crazy-early version of Bracketology, Purdue checks in as a No. 4 seed.

In ESPN.com’s latest Bracketology (yes, for a season that starts in about six months), Joe Lunardi has Purdue getting a No. 4 seed in next year’s NCAA Tournament. To put that in perspective, the only Big Ten team slotted higher is Ohio State as a No. 1 seed. The Buckeyes bring back a ton of their important pieces from a stellar team this past year.

Definitely worth mentioning, Indiana is no where to be found, not even on the “First Four Out” or “Next Four Out” lists. Other teams of interest, Wisconsin is a five, Michigan a seven, Michigan State No. 10, Northwestern No. 11 and Illinois No. 12. Those numbers give the Big Ten seven teams, second-most behind, you guessed it, the Big East.

Other No. 1 seeds are Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina.
