Harris Still In No Hurry To Decide

The Boiling Point: Highly-touted 2012 recruit Gary Harris is still finding out where he wants to play college basketball.
With early verbal commitments from 2012, 2013 and 2014 classes falling all around him, highly-touted 2012 recruit Gary Harris is still in the decision-making process. According to Gold and Black Illustrated, the 6-foot-4 guard from Hamilton Southeastern still isn’t sure where he’s going to college and when a decision will be made.
"“I’ll have to sit down and talk with my parents about it,” Harris added in an interview with the Purdue rivals site at the Hensley Memorial Run ‘N Slam AAU Tournament in Fort Wayne during the weekend."
Harris is thought to be the top 2012 recruit in the state and is likely to be ranked in the Top 20 nationally when it’s all said and done. All of that means the likes of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee are in the mix. But with so many of those schools’ 2012 classes already filled up, where Harris will end up could get interesting.
For instance, the Boilers already have one too many verbals for the 2012 class. If Harris decided he wanted to head to West Lafayette, two players from its current roster would have to leave before the fall of ’12 or two verbal commits would have to back out. Neither is an ideal scenario, obviously.
"“It was good to go up and see some games,” Harris told GBI, “and to get up on campus and see some of the renovations they’re doing. … It’s going to be amazing. They put a lot of money into that, so I’m sure it’s going to be look nice.”"
Harris is planning more unofficial visits this summer but doesn’t have anything set. Five years back Harris’ process might not have seemed to take so long, but commitments have started coming earlier and earlier in recent years in Indiana.
