The Boiling Point: 2012 recruiting prospect, Jordan Shine, has committed to the Boilers
Purdue has picked up their first 2012 football recruit. Jordan Shine is a defensive back from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, IN. He was just offered today and it looks as though he accepted on the spot.
"“Purdue feels like a good home for me,” Shine said. “I feel like I fit into their defensive scheme. I like their coaching staff and their campus, just everything about Purdue. I feel like it’s a home-like place and it’s not too far from home and not too close. I feel good about it.”"
Indiana and Minnesota were also looking at Shine at this point. Purdue has also offered two of his teammates; defensive lineman Sheldon Day and receiver Kevin Davis.
Two other known recruits being highly recruited by the Boilers are QB Zeke Pike and DT Vontrell Williams. Pike is from Edgewood, Kentucky and is getting recruited by every huge program in the country. Rivals hasn’t come out with their rankings yet but he is said to be one of the top 5 QB’s in the country. Williams is from Chicago, IL and is getting interest from Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan St to name a few. Purdue DT Bruce Gaston is his best friend from the Chicago area and Purdue LB Will Lucas is his best friend from Florida, where he is originally from. Looks as though the Purdue coaching staff is going after some big name prospects; let’s hope it pays off.
