Mike Jackson Resigns
The Boiling Point: Purdue assistant coach, Mike Jackson, has resigned from his position
According to a report from GoldandBlackIllustrated.com, Purdue assistant coach Mike Jackson has resigned from his position. Jackson was arrested February 2nd on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and endangering a person. He was suspended from the team on February 9th. Jackson pleaded guilty to the OWI charge and was put on probation March 25th.
"“I want to thank Coach (Matt) Painter and his staff, as well as Morgan Burke and Purdue Athletics, for the opportunity to be part of such a well-respected program,” Jackson said in a released statement. “I enjoyed my time at Purdue, and I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my career.”"
This leaves two spots open on Matt Painter’s staff after Paul Lusk took the head coaching job at Missouri State. All signs are pointing to one or both of those spots being filled and announced next week.
