Martin Continues Purdue Connections At Tennessee

The Boiling Point: With Cuonzo Martin coaching at Tennessee, another Purdue tie is made in Knoxville.

Former Purdue player and coach Cuonzo Martin added another Purdue-related basketball guy to his staff at Tennessee. Martin, who was hired a week ago in Knoxville, hired Kent Williams as an assistant.

Williams was the supervisor of basketball operations at Purdue from 2005-2008 with Martin and Purdue coach Matt Painter. He was an assistant for Marin the past couple seasons at Missouri State. Williams also played at Southern Illinois under Illinois coach Bruce Weber and Painter.

Martin’s only other hire that’s been confirmed is former Missouri State assistant Jon Harris.
