The Boiling Point: Purdue’s Black & Gold spring game is Saturday, April 9th
The Boilermakers will hold their annual Black & Gold spring game at 1pm eastern on April 9th in Ross-Ade Stadium. How it will run is still being determined. While in previous years it has been more of a practice because of injuries, this year there may be enough players to have a real game. In the past, they had captains and coaches hold a draft to determine the teams. Good way to see who players think is the worst, huh?
Other events going on that day:
-Family Fun Fest-Registration is at 10am and enter through Gate A. Begins at 11am and includes 6 interactive stations run by players. It is free admission to all youth with adult supervision. Takes place on the field.
-The new Purdue Pete will be unveiled at 12:55pm. Rumors are it is a full body suit and they took into account how the old one supposedly scared little kids. Don’t know how it did; man up kids! Should be interesting to see what they came up with.
-Black & Gold scrimmage/game begins at 1pm. At breaks and halftime of the game, there will be alumni football player recognition. One player that will for sure be there is current Denver Broncos quarterback, Kyle Orton. He is talking to the team beforehand.
–Post-game-Autograph session with players
