No Update On Painter, Burke In West Lafayette

The Boiling Point: Still no answers about Matt Painter’s future, but athletic director Morgan Burke is in West Lafayette.

Every minute there seems to be a new report or source claiming Purdue men’s basketball coach Matt Painter has decided to return to West Lafayette or head to Columbia, Mo., to take over Missouri’s program. At this point, we can safely report people are continuing to get ahead of themselves and no decision has been made. The situation continues, as the Indianapolis Star’s Jeff Rabjohns tweeted (@JeffRabjohns) just now.

"Matt Painter has not yet made a decision on his coaching future, a source said."

We can also confirm that Purdue athletic director Morgan Burke is NOT in Florida. He’s in fact in Purdue’s dugout at Purdue’s home baseball game against IPFW.

It does appear, thanks to flight tracking, that Missouri’s athletic administration contingent is headed back to Missouri from Florida, where Painter is vacationing with his family.
