Michigan State Moves On To Face Purdue

The Boiling Point: A 66-61 Michigan State win against Iowa on Thursday means that Purdue will face the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. EST on Friday in the Big Ten Tournament.
With No. 7 seed Michigan State’s narrow escape against Iowa on Thursday, Purdue will face the Spartans for the third time this season in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. Purdue swept the regular season series with a 67-47 win in East Lansing, Mich., and an 86-76 win in Mackey Arena.
Most have mixed feelings on facing MSU. Some wanted to get another shot at Iowa after finishing the regular season in disappointing fashion last weekend. Also, beating a team three times in one season is a significant challenge. If the No. 2 seed Boilers are going to do so, they will have to slow down Draymond Green, who went for 21 points and 14 rebounds against Iowa.
The second-round game tips at 6:30 p.m. EST on Friday. The winner moves on to face the winner of Wisconsin and Penn State/Indiana.
