The Boiling Point: Purdue senior JaJuan Johnson took home the Big Ten’s top basketball honor on Monday.

In a season that saw Robbie Hummel go down before any games were played, Purdue’s senior big man JaJuan Johnson made sure the Boilers didn’t have any letdown. He was rewarded on Monday for putting together one of the best seasons in Purdue history. Johnson was selected as the media and coaches’ Big Ten’s Player of the Year over Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger and Wisconsin’s Jordan Taylor.

Johnson averaged a league-best 20.5 points, 8.1 rebounds (fourth-best) and 2.4 blocks (first). He is just the third Purdue player to ever win the award. Glenn Robinson won it in 1994 and Steve Scheffler in 1990.
