The Boiling Point: Starting point guard Lewis Jackson’s hand injury isn’t serious and he will practice with the team today.

Given the toughness of little Lewie, not much was going to keep the junior point guard out of Purdue’s postseason play, but it appears the injury he suffered to his left hand during Purdue’s loss on Saturday won’t cause Lewis Jackson to miss any practice.

Jackson has more than proved his toughness during his time as a Boiler after coming back late in the season last year and playing while still recovering from a severe foot injury. He played most of the second half against Iowa with the hand wrapped, but removed the tape to help with ball handling. After the game, Jackson said he was going to monitor the pain and swelling, but that nothing was going to keep him out of the Big Ten Tournament and NCAA Tournament.

Purdue will have a full week of practice before playing either Michigan State or Iowa on Friday.
