The Boiling Point: Purdue fell three spots to No. 9 in both the AP and Coaches Poll, which were released Monday.

Everyone knew the Boilers would be moving downward in the polls once they came after losing to Iowa on Saturday, but no one knew exactly how far they would fall. Well, the answer is to No. 9.

After peaking at No. 6 last Monday, the Boilers capped their regular season with a stunning loss in Iowa City. It cost them three spots in both the AP and Coaches Poll. It also has dropped them from a No. 2 seed in ESPN’s bracketology to a No. 3.

Moving ahead of Purdue in the polls was Notre Dame, North Carolina and San Diego State. The Top 5 is Ohio State, Kansas, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Duke.
