Cuonzo Martin Wins MVC Coach Of The Year

The Boiling Point: Former Purdue great and assistant coach Cuonzo Martin won the Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year award on Thursday.
Just days after Missouri State coach Cuonzo Martin and the Bears (23-7, 15-3) won the school’s first-ever conference title, Martin was named Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year. Martin is in his third season with the school after coaching under Gene Keady and Matt Painter at Purdue. He starred at Purdue as a player, too.
Martin received 27 of the possible 40 first-place votes for the award. Martin and Missouri State are the No. 1 seed in the MVC Tournament that began this week.
