The Boiling Point: E’twaun Moore had his number retired at East Chicago Central on Friday.

Last night at East Chicago Central, Purdue senior E’twaun Moore had his number retired. He became the first player in East Chicago history to have the honor. Moore is first in points (1,829) and rebounds (642) at E.C. Central. His most well-known moment is when he led his 2007 team to the Indiana state title with a win over Eric Gordon’s North Central team in Conseco Fieldhouse.

"“This is huge,” Moore said right after giving hugs and high-fives to the current Cardinals. “It means a lot to know that I have the entire city behind me like this. I tried to give the city respect when I was here and it’s nice to know that they are giving it back to me.”"

Moore has carried his high school success to the Boilers leading them in scoring all three years prior to this season. It’s a great honor for Moore, who was also named Big Ten Player of the Week recently. Look for him and the Boilers in action at Michigan State at 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday live on ESPN.
