Indy Star: Bird, Pacers Wanted Landry
By Zach Langdon
The Boiling Point: The Indianapolis Star’s Mike Wells wrote in his blog the Pacers made a run at acquiring Carl Landry before he was traded to the Hornets.
I have to admit, this isn’t how I wanted Post #100 to go for this site, but oh well. According to Indianapolis Star reporter Mike Wells’ blog, Carl Landry could have ended up a Pacer instead of a Hornet:
"“Pacers president Larry Bird at least made a run at a player he’s had his eye on for awhile. The Pacers were one of several teams interested in acquiring former Purdue standout Carl Landry.”"
Wells’ blog focuses on the Pacers, so he didn’t go too in depth on these comments, but said Landry is the type of player that “fits into their plans going forward.” It’s too bad they couldn’t land the deal and bring Carl back to Indiana.
