Tom Crean Whines.. This Time About Schedule
By Zach Langdon
The Boiling Point: Indiana coach Tom Crean doesn’t think its fair that Indiana must play several Big Ten teams in a row.
Indiana’s next four games are against Purdue, at Ohio State home against Wisconsin and at Illinois. Coach Tom Crean doesn’t think that is fair.
"“When we look at our schedule, starting with Purdue on Wednesday night, I can’t see anyone playing the type of schedule we have the next two weeks,” Crean said. “It’s a challenge, but what we’re trying to get our team to understand is that it’s a tremendous opportunity.”"
I’m not saying Indiana’s stretch isn’t difficult, but they’re not the only team with a difficult stretch. That’s what happens when you have a good conference. Ohio State, for example, just got done with a stretch of at Wisconsin, vs. Michigan State and at Purdue. Up next? Illinois. Sounds just as tough as Indiana’s with the exception of not having Ohio State on their own schedule.
Purdue went to Illinois, then hosted Wisconsin and Ohio State. After heading to Indiana, they’ll host Illinois. That’s a pretty difficult stretch as well.
I think what Crean doesn’t get is when you’re not the Big Ten’s top team, you have to play the Big Ten’s top team.
