The Boiling Point: Rivals.com lists E’Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson and Matt Painter each in the top five at their position nationally.

Rivals.com’s newest nationally position rankings are out and Matt Painter has joined his two seniors in the top five at his position.

Painter is ranked No. 5 in the nation. Coach K is No. 1, San Diego State’s Steve Fisher is No. 2 and Ohio State’s Thad Matta is No. 3. Kansas’ Bill Self rounds out the top five.

I kind of have an issue with this. Matta is an alright coach, but No. 3 in the nation? I disagree. If you took Ohio State’s top seven guys (the only ones that play) and put them together on Moorehead State’s roster they’d be just as good. That doesn’t have much to do with Matta.

See where the rest of the Boilermakers rank after the jump.

JaJuan Johnson was ranked the No. 2 center in the nation, right behind Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger. No changes in the top five at this position.

E’Twaun Moore was ranked the No. 2 shooting guard in the nation, up from No. 6 last week. Nolan Smith is still No. 1 at this position. Moore jumped Charles Jenkins from Hofstra, Klay Thompson from Washington State, Ben Hansbrough from Notre Dame, and Austin Freeman from Georgetown.

No other Boilers are in the Top 25 at their position.
