The Boiling Point: In the latest polls released on Monday, Purdue is ranked No. 8 in both.

Well, after arguably one of the best weeks Purdue basketball has ever seen, the Boilers moved up just a couple spots in the rankings. Yes, Purdue checks in at No. 8 both the AP and Coaches poll released on Monday. For what it’s worth, Purdue is the highest ranked five-loss team.

Some thought the Boilers might make a bigger climb considering the top four teams lost, as well as Nos. 7 and 10, but because of all the chaos it seems more voters took a big picture approach. According to pollspeak.com, the highest anyone put Purdue was No. 7 and the lowest was No. 9. This makes it clear that the two wins against Top 10 teams last week legitimized the Boilers as a Top 10 team at least, which people were still skeptical of, for whatever reason.

Six teams got first-place votes, including BYU, which is one spot higher than Purdue.
