Columnist Decides (In February) Boilers May Be Decent Without Hummel

The Boiling Point: It’s the middle of February and The Big Lead’s Jason Flemming wrote a column about how Purdue is good, despite not having Robbie Hummel.

The Big Lead’s Jason Flemming took to his column today to write a “I told you so” of sorts to all the national pundits who discounted Purdue after Robbie Hummel went down in the preseason.

The problem is, Flemming didn’t tell us so in October, he’s saying it now. In February. With Purdue ranked No. 11 and having just beat No. 10.

A little late to the party, maybe?

"“Moral of the story: This Purdue team is extremely good. The Boilermakers lack a number of high-quality wins which prove they are an elite bunch, but it isn’t a stretch to say this team is on the same level as year’s squad (with Hummel).”"
