Byrd: "It’s Just A Little Bruise."

The Boiling Point: DJ Byrd said he should be OK to play against Wisconsin after suffering a hip bruise and missing most of the second half in Purdue’s win at Illinois.

D.J. Byrd spoke to TheBoilingPoints.com’s Leroy Bridges after the game, where they had this exchange:
Leroy: “What happened, is it a hip pointer?”
DJ: “Yeah, it’s just a little bruise.”
Leroy: “So no worries or anything?”
DJ: “Yeah, I should be good for the next game.”

Byrd said he believed the injury happened when he went up for a rebound and hit someone else’s hip, then the ground. He received an ice treatment and had a hip pad similar to what would be worn by a football player, held in place by an ACE bandage around his waist.
